Things get started with your initial call or email to Granite Bluff. Owner Jeremy Hause will set up a time that is convenient for you to get together at the proposed work site and discuss what you would like done and what kind of budget you have to work with. We will then provide you with a written estimate. The initial estimate is FREE! For projects under $5000.00, this written estimate can be accepted as a bid to complete your project and we will provide a written contract for you to sign. For projects over $5000.00, the first estimate is a guideline only. If you would like to continue forward with the project, we will set up a follow up meeting with you to work out additional details. We will then draft a set of plans with a detailed description of the project and budget. Once you have approved all plans, a contract will be drawn up and we will set a schedule. At this point, a $250.00 design fee will be charged. The design fee helps to cover the cost of our CAD design work, printing, and the time to get estimates from any sub contractors that are required. The design fee will be deducted from the total cost of the project. Most projects will require a down payment that will be due twelve business days prior to the start date. Down payments are set according to the current national averages of U.S. contractors. For larger projects, it may be necessary to submit draws as the project progresses. These draws will be spelled out in the written contract. After we have completed your project to contract specifications and your satisfaction, we will bring in the local building inspector for final approval. Once we get that approval, we will submit the final bill. Jeremy is present on every job site throughout the entire project and he will keep you up to date on the progress. All sub contractors are walked through the entire project to ensure everything gets completed as contracted. Jeremy himself checks every detail of the job. This allows you the peace of mind in knowing that if there is ever a question or concern, you won't have to track down several people to address the matter.
